From Foster we drove North to Old Bar,, one of the beaches we have wanted to check out for a while but never got around to it... in this case we shouldn't have bothered.
We initially planned to stay in Port Macquarie, but then thought we would be better off getting some distance North,, so drove up to Coffs Harbour. We had a quick surf at sunset then went out for steaks and beers at the bowls club... were we were treated to a tropical lightning storm.
The Next morning we got up at sunrise and surfed the main city beach at Coffs.. Park Beach,, which had surprisingly good clean 3ft waves.
My friend Boe has talked me into getting a new board after seeing the work I have to put in to catch some of the smaller waves... he has a newer design that gets onto the smaller waves much easier. We plan to go to Byron next,,, I will shop around there,,,,
