We got up at sunrise, checked out early and drove to The Pass, the closest beach to Byron Bay town, It was already crowded, and too protected from the larger swell.
Next stop was Broken Head, where I took the picture above. It was also small here so we continued onto Lennox Head. Although the tide was just coming off high, there were some great waves there, uncrowded 6ft peaks. I took some shots of the guys surfing there.. I will post next.
